Download CMADS.7z and locate the CMADSV1.0station.zip file within the CMADS folder. Then, open CMADSV1.0.mxd using ArcMap. (The initial geographic coordinates of the map are: GCS_WGS_1984 Datum: D_WGS_1984).

Figure.1 Add map

Click on the zoom button to enlarge the target area. (Due to the large number of sites, it is advisable to zoom in to facilitate smoother reading of the stations by the software. Before performing the zoom operation, remember to uncheck the CMADS1.0 checkbox.) (Refer to Figure 2).

Figure.2 Zoom map

Once you have zoomed in on the research area, reselect the checkbox for CMADS 1.0. Then, select the attributes of the CMADS 1.0 layer and label the CMADS station names. (Refer to Figure 3).

We can now proceed to select the CMADS stations that are included within the study area. These stations can be found in the Catalog under \For-swat-2009\ and \For-swat 2012. For this case, we consider the selected stations to range from 137-60 to 137-73, from 136-60 to 136-73, from 135-60 to 135-73, from 134-60 to 134-73, and from 133-60 to 133-73.

Next, we select these stations from the Fork index table and create our own user index table. The index table for all weather elements can be found in the \FORK\ directory. (Please ensure to include the header 'ID, NAME, LAT, LONG, ELEVATION' during this step.) (Refer to Figure 4).

Figure. 4 Make user index table

The result in this case is:

....................................

ID,NAME,LAT,LONG,ELEVATION

39660,P133-60,43.98725,79.67825,495

39661,P133-61,43.98725,80.01125,544

39662,P133-62,43.98725,80.34425,587

39663,P133-63,43.98725,80.67725,584

39664,P133-64,43.98725,81.01025,611

39665,P133-65,43.98725,81.34325,698

39666,P133-66,43.98725,81.67625,968

39667,P133-67,43.98725,82.00925,1190

....................................

Place all of the aforementioned meteorological stations and index tables (*fork.txt) in the same folder. (Refer to Figure 5).

Figure.5 Prepare the file

Generate the site location file 'wgnstation.txt' (Refer to the example below). (Selecting any point within the study area is acceptable, and for this case, we chose station 135-67).

........................................

ID,NAME,LAT,LONG,ELEVATION

38,CMADS13567,43.98,86.67,950

........................................

Subsequently, we incorporate the site location information for station 135-67 into the userwgn file. (Refer to Figure 6) (Aside from the site location information, other data can be filled in arbitrarily).

Figure.6 Fill the userwgn according to wgnstation.txt

10.Finally, load the station table and index table.

(Note: The loading process of the SWAT2012 model follows a similar procedure to SWAT2009.)
